Mazda6 Master Cylinder Cap

Q:     For your information about master cylinder caps. Evidently they are a major issue that they won’t go back on at least in older models because of a design flaw. Few will go back on because the center section gets jammed up and won’t allow it hook. Mazda does carry updated caps and I strongly urge you to order one thru your local dealer. They are $26

My car is a 2005 Mazda 6. Parts stores do not carry them! I literally had to zip tie mine down to drive it for a few days until it came in.

Brian Webb

A:     It is a really bad design. If you replace one, buy one for a 2nd gen Mazda6. They are a normal style, are a direct fit, and will never break like the stupid design the 1st gen 6 has. Also it’s cheaper, and just looks a lot cleaner.
